The Birel N35 the obvious choice for a rental operator !

Over the years Birel Spa has invested heavily and carefully in developing its interpretation of the best "Rental" kart for the corporate market.

All factors have been studied as each market, each track, each user is specific in their needs. With a racing pedigree that spans over 40 years the easy part for the Birel designers was providing a chassis that delivered a driving experience as close to a racing kart possible whilst retaining the corporate kart brief of integrity and above all strength.

But the design process didn’t stop there. When running a corporate track an operator’s costs are fundamental to its success. The Birel N35 combined with the new generation Birel prepared Subaru engine weighs just 111kgs with fuel. The weight of the Birel N35 dwarfs its major competitors by nearly 40kgs! This weight also delivers a chassis that really handles like a racing kart and the fuel consumption of the Birel/Subaru makes a real saving to an operators costs.

Whilst the Birel N35 needs little maintenance the Birel designers were mindful of the technicians that work on a corporate fleet. Again an operator’s costs can be increased by excessive workshop down time. All Birel N35 karts are supplied with a manual containing exploded diagrams of all parts of the chassis including part numbers. All areas to the brake calliper, chain and pedal box mechanisms are easily accessible whether for maintenance or purely safety checks.

One of the areas of the design of the Birel N35 that the Birel Company is most proud is that of the bodywork protection system. Major investment was made in this area with intensive crash tests undertaken. The result is a complete unique bodywork shape which minimizes damage and maximises safety between each kart whilst delivering a unique and striking racing look. 

The acid test for an operator is will this kart return me more business and more profit? The answer is yes! As well as the UK one of the major markets for the Birel N35 is the USA where a unique and interesting sales technique was used.  When considering a new fleet an operator has a big investment to make. Initial sales in the USA were achieved by operators buying a small Birel fleet to begin with. The operator then promoted the Birel N35 as a premium kart and charged a little more for a client to drive compared to his/her existing fleet. The results were outstanding, not only did the smaller Birel fleet return more drives and more profit for the operator but it also resulted in a higher rate of return business with clients only interested in driving the Birel N35 – the clients were voting with their driving feet!

In the UK the Birel N35 has already made a major impact. We are very proud to have introduced the Birel N35 into the two biggest corporate companies in the UK - Club 100 and the Daytona Group. The first ever company to take delivery of the Birel was Club100 who took 43 karts and are famous for their arrive and drive Championships around the UK. In 2008 the Birel Fleet at Club 100 have completed more than 300 hours of track time without any problems and for the first time ever Club100 sold out all their events for the year after just 1 month of using the Birel!

The Daytona Group took delivery of 45 Birel’s and has launched the kart as their premium product at their Milton Keynes circuit. The Daytona fleet has now completed nearly 400 hours, again without any problems and a significant return in re bookings has resulted. The company is now looking at how the Birel can be utilized in its other UK circuits.
