Mehta succeeds in KF2 preceding teammate Suto
Birel team prove successful once again in the prestigious Japanese championship organized by JAF confirming their competitiveness in all classes. Official Birel Pacific Team pilot Bryan Mehta (Birel-Parilla) was the great protagonist of the 2nd Eastern Series weekend appointment, standing out in KF2 top category and leaving teammate Kohei Suto behind him.
Suto had been the fastest during qualification but, in the qualification round and the Final, Mehta could count on better set-up which gave him more chances than his teammate. Remarkable ranking for Agui and Nojiiri too, racing for "next of kin" Spirit team they finished 5th and 6th.
This is Mehta's comment on the race:
" A remarkable layer of rubber had deposited on the track and I have not yet achieved great experience under these conditions, that is why I did not classify among the fastest on Saturday. But then the team and I worked on frame set-up (RY 30) obtaining balance and exceptional "fluency". Therefore everything was relatively easy on Sunday".
Teammate Suto confirms:
"It is our frame that made the difference against our opponents on this track and under the conditions in which the rounds and the Final were raced. We once again had the proof that by just performing a few set up solutions and adjusting two axles according to the conditions of the track our speed will not be affected. I believe this achievement will be excellent publicity for Birel frames and Birel Pacific, and I am really happy about this."
Not only KF2 raced but also FS 125 classes with Parilla X 30 engines, FP Junior with Yamaha engine and FP Junior Cadet (Yamaha) for the youngest were on the track.
And Birel was protagonists in these classes too. Tsuboi obtained an excellent 2nd position in extremely crowded FS 125 Parilla while Takahashi raced for success with his Birel RY 31-S1 against Nishikawa (Spirit) up to the last lap.
