Enrolment to the first official stage of the world karting series organized by WSK Promotion will soon open. Starting Friday 28 May, the telematic procedure used for all WSK events will be operative. You will be able to fill in the enrolment form on-line on the www.wskarting.it website and get confirmation in real time.
The WSK top championship will take off in Portugal over the 30 June to 3 July weekend. The 2nd round will follow in Milville USA, while the final race will be held in Sharm el Sheik in Egypt in late October.
Portimao, an Atlantic tourist resort 70 km away from Faro, is the location for the almost completed Algarve Circuit, which is part of the vast Algarve Motor Park facility. This newly-built karting circuit is adjacent to the well-known motor racing track, home of the leading international championships. It is hence a context of absolute excellence which will welcome a large number of spectators, also attracted by the WTCC race that will take place on the motor racing circuit the same days. Great expectations for Birel official team with Toman and Cesetti racing in SKF, and Barrabeig, Lennox and Fousek in KF2. Basz, sporting RK colours, will be another KF2 protagonist, whereas the KF3 team will be defined over the next days.
Mariano De Faveri, Birel Motorsport technical manager, commented on the upcoming outstanding world championship as follows: "We have high expectations for this Series because we know we will be able to capitalize all the work carried out in Euro Series and over the long test sessions. We have made excellent development progress also with the Bmb engines, working with our technical partners on several configurations to suit the typology of the circuit. So, the technical package we propose will be among the most competitive, especially in SKF and KF2. In addition, our drivers know exactly how to handle the situation on very special occasions."
